About Amanda
Amanda T. Silva is an artist and political strategist. At her core she is an organizer born and raised by a strong Sri Lankan community in New York. As a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, she believes in opening doors for others and centering those most impacted in order to achieve collective liberation.
Amanda began her career in international development having lived in Sri Lanka, Australia, and serving as a part of the first 20 placements in West Java in Peace Corps Indonesia. She called Washington, DC home for 17 years where she served in several different capacities, from organizing march logistics in 2017 to scaling national digital organizing programs for two presidential campaign cycles before transitioning her family to Houston, TX. She graduated with a bachelor’s in studio art: multimedia and a minor in international development from American University.
